| Summary: | Using --prefix trashes / dir. | ||||
| Description: |
If you run configure with --prefix, then for some reason it immediately tries to create the target directory, which ofcourse it shouldn't do, as one doesn't run configure as root, while you may still want to install in a location which only root can write to. So if you specify a directory where the current user can't write, the directory will not be created. This is not detected, and the line prefix="`cd $prefix && pwd`" will evaluate to prefix="" and you'll end up with a root dir full of junk when you 'make install' as root. |
||||
| Steps To Reproduce: |
$ ./configure --prefix=/opt/libcfg+ $ make # make install |
