Does this sofware work on Linux systems?

I have linux CentOS, my html directory is /var/www/html.
Downloaded version 5.7.1
Unzipped file in var/www/html directory, this creates a folder called phpMyEdit-5.7.1

Went to browser and tried this but got a "Forbidden" error msg:
http://localhost/phpMYEdit-5.7.1/phpMyEditSetup.php

Next I renamed the folder to phpmyedit and tried this with the same results:
http://localhost/phpmyedit/phpMyEditSetup.php

I have given full permissions to this new folder and to the cgi-bin folder and still get the "Forbidden" problem.

Does anyone know if this software can work on Linux and what is that I need to do for this to work.

Thanks

This problem has been resolved by taking out the two php files that come in the original folder. files: phpMyEditSetup.php and phpMyEdit.class.php.

New problem:
What is the next step after the initial script is created and modified?,, I can not figure out what to do next !!! to bring up the screens with the table. ???
