Hi everyone,

I've been looking into some of the open-source projects here and had a quick side question regarding home infrastructure. Does anyone here have experience with how sudden spikes in municipal water pressure can affect older residential piping?

I’m currently dealing with some vibrating pipes in my basement and I'm worried about a potential burst. I was reading some guides from an emergency plumber Morris Plains NJ about how pressure reducing valves (PRVs) are essential for preventing structural water damage, but I’d love to hear a more technical or "open-source" DIY perspective on monitoring home water pressure.

Are there any specific sensors or Raspberry Pi-based projects you guys recommend for leak detection? According to EPA WaterSense guidelines, catching a leak early is the only way to prevent major foundation issues.

Thanks for any insight!
