I've been thinking about how small organizations that run children's programs could use simple, affordable software to make their daily operations easier. Managing registrations, organizing activity schedules, tracking attendance, and communicating updates to parents can become complicated when everything is handled through separate spreadsheets and messages.
For example, a program such as a
Summer camp Davie
could benefit from a straightforward system that lets staff organize weekly activities, keep track of participant lists, and share schedule changes with parents.
Would an open-source tool designed specifically for small camps and youth activity programs be a useful project? I'm interested in which features would matter most and whether an existing project already handles these needs well. Privacy and ease of use would be especially important when dealing with children's information.
