phpMyEdit General     Javascript error in IE6 while saving changes

If I try to save a change in a record in version 5.4 I get the following javascript popup error message in IE6:

Error: object expected

This seems to be the line which causes the trouble:
onClick="return phpMyEdit_form_control(this.form);"

Any suggestions?

there is a bug when there are no required fields...

By changing the field which got changed to 'required' the bug disappeared. Thanks :)
